A Sunday in Rome

Each day we try to sample typical Roman food. The first was pizza
Neapolitano, then pasta with mussels and Sardinian tuna. We enjoyed
the bread, bruschetta with tomatoes and basil, cannelloni, ravioli,
olives, mixed salads, veal marsala with mushrooms and fried squid,
shrimps and little fish. The antipasto plates are always great. The
wine has been hit or miss, too many misses for us to rave about, but
the food has been wonderful. And the gelato, wow. I wish we could
bring the pistachio home with us. Gail loves the lemon and everyone
is walking around Rome with an ice cream cone, or a cell phone in
hand. People watching is part of the joy of travel. We walked miles
today and saw locales gather in sidewalk cafes all over the city.
