It is impossible to recount the spectacular mountain scenery we have seen today. The 30 minute flight over the Andes mountain range was breath taking! It was about 95 degrees in Santiago, Chile and 97 degrees in Mendoza, Argentina today and yet we flew over snow capped peaks, mountain lakes and glaciers. Mendoza is famous for Cerro Aconcagua which is the highest mountain in the Americas. Our Mendoza Park Suite Hotel is lovely. This afternoon we enjoyed our rooftop swimming pool and what a view! We could see the canopy of giant sycamore trees that line every street in town. Without the trees, Mendoza would be uncomfortably hot, but the shade from all the trees allow for numerous outdoor cafes and restaurants. We took two long walks today, saw tango dancers in the park, ate parrillas (grilled) meat, gelato and sampled some Malbec of course. Time for bed and expect more fun tomorrow. We just love it here!
